Summary
An issue has been identified in the management software Automox that may cause excessive battery drain on macOS devices. This software is slated for retirement next year, but some technical constraints currently limit our ability to automatically uninstall it.
Automox has a fix coming soon, but to quickly address the problem, we have made available a simple file you can run that will uninstall the software and resolve the battery drain issue.
Fix Procedure
Extract (double-click) the attached app at the bottom of this page: Remove Automox.zip
Run (double-click) the extracted app: Remove Automox.app
Click "Remove Automox" in the dialog box.
After uninstall, reboot the Mac (Apple Button --> Restart)
After reboot, open Activity Monitor (Command + Spacebar --> Search "Activity Monitor").
"agent-ui" should not be present as an item drawing CPU usage (Click the "%CPU" column a couple of times to sort active apps by their CPU usage).
